How to care for Dried Flowers and Biodegradable Confetti

Here are our care tips for your Biodegradable Confetti & Dried Flowers

Dried Flowers

Dried flowers are so beautiful and super easy to take care of. They will last for many months if not years with just a few easy steps.

Your dried flowers do not need water.

If you would like your dried flowers to stay beautiful and last for years, you will need to keep them in a dry area. Avoid areas like bathrooms which have high levels of humidity. Moisture can case the stems to soften and then they can become mouldy.

Avoid Direct Sunlight.

When dried flowers are subject to direct sunlight, the natural colours can fade. Some fading will occur naturally over time but if you are looking to keep your dried flowers as bright as possible for as long as possible, keep them out of areas that get lots of natural sunlight.

Keep your Dried Flowers Dust Free.

Over time, dust can collect on your dried flowers. The best and most convenient way to remove dust from your dried flowers is to use a hairdryer on low heat and power. You can also use a feather duster to gently remove and dust.

Be Kind.

Dried flowers can be delicate and consideration should be given to where you will be displaying them in your home. At times, dried flowers can be brittle and if they are swept passed or moved frequently, this can cause some damage or loss of flowers from the stem.

In areas of high traffic e.g a hallway you may find that the flowers will not last as long as if you kept them out of reach in a low traffic area.

Keep out of reach from small humans and fluffy friends.

Whilst most dried flowers are totally harmless there are some stems that can be toxic to dogs, cats and small humans. A quick google search will show you which these would be.

Biodegradable Confetti

Natural Petal Confetti can be stored for up to 12 months if stored in a cool, dry and dark place.

We usually recommend ordering your Biodegradable Natural petal Confetti around 6 weeks in advance to save you from needing to store your confetti at home and risk fading, alternatively you can use our delayed delivery service and delay the delivery of your confetti until 4 weeks before the date of your wedding.

We are unable to replace petals that have faded if you have chosen to store your own confetti at home.

Keep it Cool

Biodegradable Confetti needs to be kept at a temperature of 15 degrees celcius or lower to ensure longevity. Do not store in a fridge.

Keep it Dry

When confetti petals are subject to humid or damp environments, they will start to degrade. If your petals get damp, they will begin to fade / loose their colour and turn brown. We usually send Natural Petal Confetti in sealed packaging. When this arrives, inspect the packaging. If they have become un-sealed during transit or you would like to open them ahead of your wedding be sure to reseal the bag or store in a sealable food container.

Keep it Dark

Flower Petal Confetti does not like to be subject to direct sunlight. The sun rays bleach out petals and you could find the petals will fade. The combination of the heat and sunlight can cause your petals to sweat in the packaging which would mean they would start to degrade. If your order has arrived in a box, we advise keeping it stored in this until you are ready to use.

Assembling packets and cones

If you have chosen one of our DIY packages, you are able to assemble 4-6 weeks in advance as long as once they have been made, you store them in a sealed container and store in a cool, dry & dark place.
